Favorite Things Party – January

January 16, 2014 by Sarah

It’s hard to believe it’s that time again for Andrea and Ericka’s Favorite Things Party.  For some reason, it always sneaks up on me just as I am about to post a picture on Facebook about something I’m loving.  That’s what happened just yesterday.  So, I decided to save it for today’s link up!
I have to warn you that I’m probably going to sound like I’ve been living under a rock for the past 5 years with this month’s favorite thing…Archer Farms hummus!

I have eaten hummus in the past, but for some reason I’ve never gotten into the habit of keeping it on hand at home.  I think part of the reason I hadn’t thought about buying any for myself is because I used to think it was mostly used on crackers and this little munchie-junkie could get into some major trouble by keeping a lot of crackers on hand.  I typically never buy crackers, so I guess I thought I had no need for hummus?
Oh my…Lord help me, I have been so wrong!
A good friend of mine reintroduced me to hummus a few months ago when she stopped over after a social gathering and let me munch on some of her leftover veggies and hummus.  I think I inhaled at least half of that hummus and then some.  They make carrots and other raw veggies taste amazing!
So, I put it on my grocery list earlier this week and picked up some of this roasted garlic hummus from Target.  For purposes of this post, I’ll just claim the Archer Farms hummus found at Target is my fave, but I also really like Sabra brand as well {by the way, there is a 10% off Target cartwheel coupon available on their website making my price $3.14}.  This is what I’ve been doing everyday this week while at the computer blogging.

I’m not ashamed to admit that just today, I went back to Target to pick up some of their Archer Farm roasted red pepper hummus.  Man, these two flavors are so good that I need to start eating it with something other than baby carrots because I don’t want to turn orange.
Target also had spinach and artichoke and a couple others, but I couldn’t pass up these two.  I was too scared to try another flavor without a good recommendation.
Now that I am officially in love with hummus, I need to try making it myself!  Otherwise, I might go broke because I’m eating so much of this stuff.
Do any of you like hummus?  If so, what brands/flavors do you like?

I LOVE hummus too!!! Carrots are definitely the healthier choice, but I love eating it with pretzels too!! I like that Sabas (think that's it?) brand and my fave is just the "classic". Thanks so much for linking up!!

I always take this treat to parties or get together and it never fails to be one of the crowd favorites. You can also try it with pretzels for a tail gate. I haven't tried the garlic but will be adding that to my list.

YES! I used to always think of ranch or some other dip for veggies, but the hummus flavors are so tasty!

You definitely should, Kristin! If you do, let me know what you think of it. I asked Savannah to try and bite of carrot with some on it at lunch yesterday and she made a weird face at first but then kept eating it. I think the jury is still out on her! 🙂

I love hummus! I normally just make it, but when I'm in a city with Target sometime I might just have to pick some of this up. The roasted red pepper looks fabulous!
